Marine Land Tenure Analysis

A mangrove ground truthing ‘training of trainers’ workshop was carried out May 3rd – 4th in Belize City to build capacity to assess restoration feasibility of mangrove areas/landscape and specifically to verify information on mangrove condition, drivers of loss and degradation and climate vulnerabilities of mangrove sites.

The approach taken will help to verify spatial data and collect both qualitative and quantitative information to support the land tenure analysis process. Four trainers were trained who will, in turn, support the training of participants in a larger workshop scheduled for June. This June workshop will be carried out in collaboration with the University of Belize Environmental Research Institute.
